After 17 years, the New Balance Palm Springs 1/2 Marathon & 5k is moving to the City of Palm Desert as the New Balance Palm Desert 1/2 Marathon & 5k. While we will be changing our location and course, you can still expect the same attention to detail and event quality you've been expecting for the last 17 years. Our event will still be walker and dog friendly, and we'll still have two and three person relay teams. We'll also be adding some new features, including a more competitive runner friendly course, and expanded post-race festivities, including more food options and a beer garden presented by Coachella Valley Brewing Company.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be a great day!

When triathletes do a bike ride followed by a run, they call it a brick. In 2016, the New Balance Palm Desert 1/2 Marathon & 5k brings back Fitness Weekend and the coveted brick award. Yes, it's an actual brick adorned with a plaque commemorating a great achievement: going for a bike ride on Saturday and participating in either the 1/2 marathon or 5k on Sunday. To receive your brick, you just need to show us that you went for a bike ride on Saturday after completing either run distance on Sunday. How do you prove your toughness?
1) If you participate in an organized bike ride, bring proof of registration to the brick tent at the New Balance Palm Desert 1/2 Marathon & 5k finish line.
2) If you go for your own ride, take a photo of yourself and post it to Facebook or Instagram with hashtag #palmdeserthalf. We'll check your account at the brick tent.
Want to pickup your packet on race morning? You can do that! Want to sleep in instead? You can do that too! You can choose the packet pickup option that works best for you. If you want to pick up your packet before race day, our title sponsor New Balance is hosting packet pickup at their store at 73-399 El Paseo in Palm Desert on Friday, January 22 from 2PM to 6PM, and on Saturday, January 23 from 10AM to 4PM. You can also pickup your packet race morning, January 24 at Civic Center Park, starting at 5:30AM.
